YOSHIHITO NISHIOKA VS MIOMIR KECMANOVIC PREDICTION
Yoshihito Nishioka has come through two rounds of qualifying to reach this main draw but he was relatively comfortable against both Taro Daniel and Arthur Cazaux. He did not make it through in Montreal last week and was eliminated in the first round in Washington but he won the ATP 2025 event in Atlanta before that. During that triumph, he beat some decent players in Frances Tiafoe and Jordan Thompson, and he will not be phased by this challenge.
He meets Miomir Kecmanovic and this will be their fourth meeting. The Serb has won twice to Nishioka’s once but one of those saw Nishioka forced to withdraw through injury. The most recent however was a couple of years ago in 2022 and it is fair to say it is Nishioka who is enjoying a better 2024 so far.
Kecmanovic has had a mixed year with some bright moments but nothing spectacular. Unlike Nishioka who has seen a rise up the rankings, Kecmanovic has been drifting down them. He has played in three hard court events in North America since Wimbledon and only won one solitary match.
With that in mind, we favour Nishioka to come away with the win here.
