THE PREDICTION

World number four Elena Rybakina finished runner-up to Iga Swiatek at the Qatar Masters on Saturday, in straight sets despite taking a double break up in the first. The 24-year-old boasts two WTA titles already in 2024, winning the Adelaide and Abu Dhabi WTA 500 titles, to see three finals reached from five tournaments played and she should be considered a serious title contender here in Dubai alongside Aryna Sabalenka and Swiatek. Former number one Victoria Azarenka beat red-hot Jelena Ostapenko in straight sets last week in Doha, before a quarter-final exit to Iga Swiatek, to continue an upwards trajectory on tour. The current number 27 has won at least three matches in each of her three tournaments played so far but that streak looks set to snap here against Rybakina, who leads their head-to-head 2-0 with two straight-set wins. Back Rybakina to win in two.

TIP: ELENA RYBAKINA TO WIN 2-0
