UGO HUMBERT VS JEROME KYM PREDICTION

Afte reaching the final of the Japan Open a couple of weeks ago before losing to compatriot Arthur Fils, Ugo Humbert naturally had a little dip in Shanghai. He was eliminated by another Frenchman Gael Monfils in the third round so he will have had almost two weeks rest coming into this event after skipping the tournaments last week.

The 26-year-old left-hander will be hopeful of having a strong week as he returns to Europe and he will be confident of winning this first-round match against qualifier Jerome Kym.

The 21-year-old Swiss qualifier had to come through two rounds to reach this stage and that included an outstanding win over Arthur Rinderknech. He will be flying with confidence after that win and he knows he simply has nothing to lose here.

It is hard to make a case for Kym to have much success against Humbert barring the Frenchman coming into this with complacency. A straight-sets win is surely on the card for the fifth seed.
