TOMMY PAUL VS BRANDON NAKASHIMA PREDICTION
Tommy Paul is in a rich vein of form right now as he comes off an Olympic bronze medal in the doubles and he eased past Luciano Darderi in the first round 6-4 7-6. His record in the singles this season is impressive which has seen him become the top-ranked American player as he has risen to 12th in the world.
He will however be wary coming into this clash given he has met Nakashima twice and lost both times to the 23-year-old. Nakashima won on clay last year and then on grass in 2022. That will no doubt focus him more than ever and he will be confident on this surface.
Nakashima will be full of confidence himself after overcoming Denis Shapovalov in the first round. That, combined with the fact he has beaten Paul in both previous meetings will see the youngster come into this clash with no fear.
It won’t however be that easy. Paul is playing some exceptional tennis and he will want to put a marker down and show his younger compatriot why he is the top-ranked player in their nation. Expect Paul to win but this will not be easy.
