TOMMY PAUL VS ALEXANDER BUBLIK PREDICTION
This could be one of the better matches on day five at Wimbledon as two seeds meet with American Tommy Paul facing off against Kazakhstan’s Alexander Bublik.
Paul has been solid so far in winning his two matches; the latest of which saw him overcome a spirited Otto Virtanen in five sets on Wednesday. He was two sets to one down in that match but showed his usual grit and determination to fight back and get the win. Even in his first round match which he should have won with more comfort, Paul is still struggling to produce a consistently solid level to beat his opponents. Unless he can iron that out, it is a matter of time before he is exposed and Bublik could be the man to do that.
The big serving Kazakh eased to victory against Arthur Cazaux in the second round and did not have to break sweat. The quality of his play denied the Frenchman a single break point and Bublik’s simple yet effective game was simply too much for Cazaux. He does possess a level of consistency, without ever being spectacular, that may trouble Paul.
They did meet back in 2021 when Paul edged a three-setter and ultimately, Paul should have the greater all-round quality in his play. He does need to step up and he will know that. The level of opponent going up in Bublik should suitably motivate Paul and despite some concerns, we still see Paul edging this. Our preference however is in game betting with over 37.5 our tip.
