30th seed Tommy Paul continued his strong form on grass this month with an assured straight-sets victory over Fernando Verdasco on Monday. The 25-year-old won his first ATP title at the Stockholm Open late last season and he has been steadily rising up the rankings ever since, with recent wins over Stan Wawrinka, Denis Shapovalov and Jannik Sinner on grass making him a creditable threat to the second week at Wimbledon. World number 86 Adrian Mannarino is probably at his best on grass, though, and the Frenchman will be a tough challenge here after a battle-hardening five-set victory over Max Purcell on Monday. The 34-year-old reached the semi-finals of ‘s-Hertogenbosch earlier this month, where he won his only ATP title back in 2019, and sets look likely for both players here in what could be another marathon match. Take both players to win at least a set if you can but otherwise back Tommy Paul to win at least two as the just-about likelier victor.
