TOMAS MARTIN ETCHEVERRY VS ALEXANDER ZVEREV PREDICTION

Tomas Martin Etcheverry has reached the third round at the US Open for the very first time and the 25-year-old Argentine will see this as a free hit now. He had to dig deep in beating compatriot Francisco Cerundolo over five sets last time out and now he faces the daunting task of having to face Alexander Zverev.

Etcheverry fired down an impressive 23 aces in that match and he will be looking for another strong serving performance here.

Zverev looked to step up another gear in the second round as he eased past Alexandre Muller in straight sets. The German will be confident of beating Etcheverry having done so in their only previous meeting at Roland Garros last year in four sets.

He should have too much for him once again here. There is every chance Etcheverry does enough to take a set but it is hard to see him playing well enough for long enough to beat Zverev.
