TOMAS MACHAC VS JACK DRAPER PREDICTION
Tomas Machac is coming off a fantastic three-set win over Grigor Dimitrov and the Czech 24-year-old is full of confidence right now. It will be interesting to see how he approaches this match which is a rematch of the US Open round of 16 clash.
In New York, Draper lost just six games en route to a straight-sets demolition of Machac but that ended a run of three losses to Machac between their ATP Tour and Challenger Tour meetings.
Draper is finding his way back to full match sharpness after injury and he has looked strong in straight-sets wins over Kei Nishikori and Luciano Darderi. He is not up to full speed just yet and he will not be entirely happy with his game but he is still playing at a high level that beats most players outside the top 20.
Draper is marginally favoured in this one but Machac has good momentum behind him. The Brit knows he can dominate him and that US Open win could well condition Machac’s mindset a little. We lean to Draper and also the over 21.5 games in what could be a see-saw battle.
