TOMAS MACHAC VS ALEKSANDAR VUKIC PREDICTION

Czech 23-year-old Tomas Machac will be delighted with his form over the last four or five weeks as since reaching the round of 16 at the US Open, he has continued some really solid form and picked up some great wins.

He started slow in his opening match against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina losing the first set 1-6 but he responded well winning a tiebreak in the second and the final set 6-4. He will not afforded that luxury here against Vukic so we would expect him to start faster here.

Machac has played Vukic once before and that came in 2023 in Vienna and it was Machac who dominated that match 6-3 6-1. Vukic will be eager to put in a better showing this time around.

The 28-year-old Australian has had to come through two rounds of qualifying to reach the main draw but not only has he done that, but he has come through some tough matches in the opening two rounds also.

He beat talented Frenchman Corentin Moutet in the first round in three sets, then produced an outstanding performance against below-par eighth-seed Casper Ruud to win 6-4 6-4. His confidence will be sky-high right now but Machac will be a tough opponent.

The Czech player is in fine form and he has to be favoured. As well as Vukic has done, none of those players, including Ruud, are playing as well as Machac is and for that reason, we expect elimination is on the cards here after a fine run.
