He now faces an opponent who has reached the second round of a Grand Slam for the first time in his career, with Tomas Barrios Vera navigating his way past Sebastian Baez on Monday. The Chilean has little to lose here and will be up to the task, but Goffin’s experience should tell and he is likely to wear his opponent down in a relatively straightforward victory.
