THANASI KOKKINAKIS VS NUNO BORGES PREDICTION
Thanasi Kokkinakis pulled off one of the upsets of the first round as he eliminated 11th seed Stefanos Tsitsipas. The Greek star is struggling for form but Kokkinakis still had to produce the goods to win over four sets.
He has now to prepare for another tough match-up as he meets Portuguese number one Nuno Borges. The pair met in Phoenix on the Challenger Tour earlier this year and Borges won 7-6 6-1.
The Portuguese 27-year-old is in the form of his life in 2024 and he will strongly fancy his chances of beating Kokkinakis. He was ruthless in his win over Federico Coria dropping just seven games over the three sets. It is hard to back against him on current form even against a buoyant Kokkinakis. The Aussie is more than capable of taking at least a set but we favour Borges to progress.
