TAYLOR FRITZ VS ARTHUR RINDERKNECH PREDICTION

There is plenty of history between American Taylor Fritz and Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech after the two previous met at Roland Garros last year. Fritz was clearly upset at the local support for Rinderknech at the French Open and lost the first set in their clash. He bounced back to win the next three sets to progress but not without winding up the French fans in his post-match interview and a number of shushing gestures throughout. That will not be forgotten coming into this match between the two although the one thing to take from the match itself was that Fritz had the edge and should do even more so on grass.

Fritz dominated Christopher O’Connell in straight sets dropping just seven games in the process in the first round while Rinderknech needed five sets to overcome Japanese veteran Kei Nishikori. It is hard to make a case for Rinderknech here despite his motivation to avenge that loss in Paris. Expect Fritz to overcome any tricky moments and progress to the third round.
