TAYLOR FRITZ VS ALEXANDER ZVEREV PREDICTION
American Taylor Fritz enjoyed a solid first week at Wimbledon and now he faces a tough test in the fourth round to kick off the second week as he faces fourth seed Sascha Zverev. Fritz will take good confidence from his wins over Christopher O’Connell and Arthur Rinderknech but the straight sets win over the in-form Alejandro Tabilo was particularly impressive. He won 92% of points on his first serve and blasted down 20 aces with just a single double fault. Tabilo could only win 12 points on Fritz’s serve and he is going to have to be as dominant once again if he is to overcome Zverev.
That may be easier said than done of course. Zverev is looking ominously good with three successive straight set wins but this is the biggest test of his credentials so far. Fritz is the first seeded player he will face and while Cam Norrie posed more of a challenge to Zverev than his previous two opponents, he comfortably beat him.
This will be the first real test for Zverev but one he will be comfortable with winning. He has won five of the eight previous meetings with Fritz including two at Wimbledon back in 2018 and 2021. On this surface and based on his excellent form in the first week, expect Zverev to win but Fritz can become the first player to take at least a set off him this fortnight.
