TATJANA MARIA VS COCO GAUFF PREDICTION
This represents Tatjana Maria’s fourth attempt at trying to reach the third round of the US Open. Unfortunately though for the 37-year-old, she comes up against a true juggernaut in Coco Gauff who looked frighteningly good last time out, sending a message to the rest of the women’s singles field. Gauff’s brute force saw her reel off ten aces on the hard court, whilst her ability to clutch up under pressure also warrants a mention, as the USA star saved all eight break points against her.
The expectation is that Gauff will once again grab control of this match quickly and dictate play with her serve and groundstrokes. She is a significantly better all-round player than Maria and her motivation certainly doesn’t need to be called into question with this being a home grand slam. Back Gauff to once again progress through comfortably, winning in straight sets.
