TALLON GRIEKSPOOR VS CARLOS ALCARAZ PREDICTION
28-year-old Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor enters this round of 16 clash buoyed by his first-round win over Miomir Kecmanovic. He lost the first set to Kecmanovic but bounced back in style to reel off the next two sets and progress.
He now meets Carlos Alcaraz who he has never beaten on the ATP Tour but did beat him in the Challengers back in 2021. Since then he has lost all four meetings including the three meetings on the ATP Tour and that will give Alcaraz confidence.
The Mallorca superstar seems to be extra-focused this week after he was stunned and knocked out early in the US Open. He spoke about fatigue being a factor around the Olympics and he has clearly not been at his best for some time.
He eased to victory against Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in the first round and he will be determined to go all the way this week.
His record against Griekspoor will give him the belief and this feels like another good opponent for Alcaraz to ease his way past and move into the quarters. Expect Alcaraz to win in straight sets.
