THE PREDICTION

19-year-old Alex Michelsen should set a new career-high ATP world ranking of around 70th after beating Lukas Klein in straight sets on Wednesday, enjoying the experience of playing on Stadium for the first time. The American earned his two Sunshine Double debuts with a stunning breakthrough on tour last summer, finishing runner-up to Adrian Mannarino at the Newport Open in only his second tour-level campaign, and he reached the third round of the Australian Open to look a big-game player with a bright future.

World number 26 Tallon Griekspoor lost to Alexander Zverev in straight sets in the third round of Indian Wells last time out but he has won his opening match in each of his last seven tournaments on tour to look the favourite here. The 27-year-old took some recovering after a brilliant run to the semi-finals of the Rotterdam Open, on home soil, last month but he has looked fresher with each passing week since. Back the Dutchman to win this first encounter outright.

TIP: TALLON GRIEKSPOOR TO WIN
