THE PREDICTION

World number four Stefanos Tsitsipas finished runner-up to Alexander Zverev at the Mexican Open last season and he will have designs on going one further this year, especially after the German’s horrendous behaviour. 23-year-old Tsitsipas is yet to drop a set this week in Acapulco after a straightforward victory over in-form Marcos Giron on Thursday but he will face his toughest opponent yet in world number 12 Cam Norrie, who conceded just one game to Peter Gojowczyk in the quarter-finals. 26-year-old Norrie is riding a seven-match winning streak from his title-winning campaign at the Delray Beach Open last week and he has beaten some top players this season the likes of Sebastian Korda, Reilly Opelka and Karen Khachanov. However, there is still a pretty clear ceiling for the British number one against the top 10 and his straight-sets defeat to Tsitsipas in the Lyon Open final last season looks a decent benchmark for what may transpire here. The sensible call is for Tsitsipas to win outright, even though straight sets is likely.
