THE PREDICTION

This should end up the match of the day in Paris between old foes Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alexander Zverev, both of whom still need points to secure their ATP Finals entry. World number six Tsitsipas all-but ensured his entry with victory over a resurgent Felix Auger-Aliassime on Wednesday, one the Greek’s most impressive results of a relatively poor season, whilst world number nine Zverev overcame a spirited onslaught by Ugo Humbert in three sets. 25-year-old Tsitsipas will secure his place in Turin with one more win and he leads their head-to-head 8-4 to suggest he is the favourite but the pair have not met since last spring, where the Greek won two of their three semi-final clashes in his last real strong period on tour.

The pair have taken it in turns to win matches since the start of 2020, just after Tsitsipas claimed the ATP Finals title, and by that pattern it is Zverev’s turn to edge through the winner. Very recent form, however, just-about tips the scales in Tsitsipas’ favour and he won their only indoors encounter en-route to his ATP Finals title in 2019. Four of their last five matches have seen sets go both ways, with Tsitsipas earning at least one in each of that span and in 10 of their 12 overall. Take the Greek to earn at least a set here or consider a one-off on the match to need a decider.

BETTING TIP: Stefanos Tsitsipas to win a set.
