THE PREDICTION

29-year-old Stefanos Napolitano will break his career-high ATP world ranking of 125th if he can cause one more upset here in Rome and he will be backed to the hilt by a raucous partisan atmosphere as the hugely unlikely last Italian standing. Napolitano came back from a set down to blast past lucky loser Jerry Shang on Saturday in a result that stands up to be counted but this should be a step to far against world number 24 Nicolas Jarry, who will have to play the villain of the piece once again after a solid win over home hopeful Matteo Arnaldi. 28-year-old Jarry has been labouring for his wins so far this season but the Chilean found some of his best form this time last year, winning the Geneva Open before a run to the last 16 at Roland-Garros. Napolitano should be able to make this a spectacle in front of the Grand Stand crowd but back Jarry to win outright. Consider adding a tiebreak, with each of their three combined matches in Rome seeing at least one.

TIP: NICOLAS JARRY TO WIN (AND OVER 0.5 TIEBREAKS)
