World number 51 Shelby Rogers is rising a four-match losing streak into Roland-Garros as the American continues to struggle with consistency in her sometime world-beating game. The 29-year-old reached the quarter-finals here in 2016 before a horrendous knee injury almost ended her career a few years later but she more recently emulated that feat at the 2020 US Open. World number 55 Tereza Martincova is another player currently in below average form by her standards, with the 27-year-old riding a five-match losing streak on tour stretching back to Indian Wells in March. The Czech is making only her second appearance at Roland-Garros and perhaps experience will tell in this first meeting between the two. Leave this match out of an accumulator but otherwise Rogers should be able to find a way through to the second round.
