World number 30 Lorenzo Musetti enjoyed his Davis Cup Finals debut last week, helping Italy to a 7-2 victory in Group A by beating Borna Gojo in straight sets. The 20-year-old struggled for much of this season until coming into a resemblance of his breakthrough form over the summer but it was a surprise to everybody when the Italian beat Carlos Alcaraz in three sets to win his maiden ATP title at the Hamburg Open. 22-year-old Sebastian Korda should reasonably be in and around Musetti’s place in the top 30 given his clear prowess but the current world number 49 has also struggled in his sophomore year so far. Korda has also stunned Alcaraz in 2022 bur after a drab summer he has impressed on his favoured hardcourts, reaching the quarter-finals of the Citi Open and the round of 16 in Cincinnati. Musetti is yet to really evolve away from the clay but Korda can definitely be got at here, despite a solid opener over Hugo Gaston on Monday.
