ROBERTO BAUTISTA AGUT VS FABIO FOGNINI PREDICTION
36-year-old Roberto Bautista Agut meets 37-year-old Fabio Fognini in what should be a highly entertaining match. The pair have both done incredibly well to get this far and have played some outstanding tennis in the process. They are very familiar with each other’s game also as one would expect for two older players on tour having met ten times previously. Fognini has won seven to Bautista Agut’s three although the last meeting came in 2019 and they have never met on grass.
It is Fognini’s play that has the edge from this week so far. His win over 8th seed Casper Ruud in the second round was outstanding if a little unexpected. If he was coming up against a younger talent here, I’d have concerns that he would be able to match those intensity levels once again here. Against a fellow veteran however and one which Fognini has an excellent record against, the Italian can get another win and move into the second week.
