REBECCA SRAMKOVA VS EVA LYS PREDICTION

World number 109 Rebecca Sramkova upset the odds to defeat third seed Xiyu Wang in the round of 16 and she will now see this match-up against Eva Lys as an excellent opportunity to reach the semi-finals of a WTA 250 event. The Slovakian has tasted success this year, winning a W50 event in Porto, while her best showing on the main tour was a run to the fourth round of the prestigious Italian Open in May.

22-year-old Eva Lys is very much on the up in her career and is ranked similarly to her opponent here. The German was dominant against the sixth-seeded Nadia Podoroska in the opening round (6-3, 6-0) and was a set and 4-1 up against Bernarda Pera in the round of 16 before her opponent retired.

Sramkova’s game is suited to clay while Lys is playing with plenty of confidence right now, so this promises to be a competitive affair that is likely to go to a deciding set.

REBECCA SRAMKOVA VS EVA LYS TIP: TOTAL SETS – 3
