World number 63 Pedro Cachin brings a poor 2-9 record for 2023 into the first round of the Miami Open but it was not long ago that the Argentine was enjoying the form of his career on the Challenger circuit. It will be interesting to see how the Argentine fairs on the incoming clay swing but this first meeting with Marton Fucsovics looks a tall order. World number 74 Fucsovics is capable of much better tennis than his ranking suggests but he has a lot of making up to do after a truly woeful 2022 season. The 31-year-old reached the round of 16 at Indian Wells last week before defeat to defending champion Taylor Fritz but his three wins over Alex Molcan, J.J. Wolf and in-form Alex de Minaur suggest he can come through fairly comfortably here. Back Fucsovics to win outright inside an accumulator or otherwise in straight sets.
