Pablo Carreno Busta continues his comeback from injury and he will take heart from getting a win under his belt in Montreal last week. He beat Fabian Maroszan before losing to Holger Rune but that win will certainly boost the veteran Spaniard as he builds up his fitness.
He faces a tough test here as he has drawn Sebastian Korda who has been in great form in the last couple of weeks. The 24-year-old won the City Open in Washington and then made it to the semis in Montreal in the Canadian to help him rise to 15th in the world – his highest ever ranking.
Korda has beaten some quality players in the last couple of weeks and the win over Sascha Zverev in Montreal was outstanding. He also beat Casper Ruud and Taylor Fritz in Montreal so confidence is sky high.
Barring complacency or any sign of fatigue which is very possible, Korda simply has to be favoured to beat Carreno Busta here.
