The 20-year-old is clearly a future top 10 player in the making and she grabbed a big upset on Monday in ousting fellow future star Amanda Anisimova in straight sets. World number 199 Olivia Gadecki made full use of her wildcard to oust an impressive qualifier in Polina Kudermetova, sister of world number nine Veronika. The Aussie has worked with current Australian Open champion Ash Barty for a huge vote of confidence but whilst this match could well see three sets it would be a surprise to see Kostyuk not match her third round record here. The Ukrainian is beginning to figure out how to use her anger at the conflict in her country to fuel her and that makes her a serious dark horse for a deep run in Melbourne.
