NUNO BORGES VS DANIIL MEDVEDEV PREDICTION

Nuno Borges showed incredible fight in his last match against Jacob Mensik as he fought back from 2-1 down to win the last two sets. The Portuguese number one won a key fourth-set tiebreak and then romped to a 6-0 final set win to earn this round of 16 clash with Daniil Medvedev.

He has faced the Russian on two previous occasions and they have both come this year. Medvedev won both matches including at the Australian Open at the start of the year, triumphing in four sets.

Medvedev will be confident he can do the same this time around in New York. He has looked increasingly strong by the round and his straight-sets win over the competitive Flavio Cobolli was a marker to put down. At no stage did he look under any threat and he is clearly raising his game at the right time.

He will know a similar level of performance will be needed against Borges here. The Portuguese 27-year-old is a battler and is enjoying the year of his life so far in 2024. This appears to be a step to far however and we are taking Medvedev to take it 3-0 or 3-1.
