MIRRA ANDREEVA VS QINWEN ZHENG PREDICTION
17th seed Mirra Andreeva handed out a hammering to Magda Linette 6-1 6-3 in their round of 16 match to send a warning that she means business this week in Beijing.
She has now equalled her best-ever performance in a WTA 1000 event as she reached the quarters in both Madrid and Cincinnati this year but she will have her eyes on surpassing that in Beijing.
She comes up against home favourite Qinwen Zheng who was involved in her toughest match so far in this edition as she was taken to three sets by Amanda Anisimova on Wednesday. She started slowly and made a number of unforced errors in the first set but she dominated the next two once she clicked into gear and looked impressive.
Our sense is that, combined with the support of the locals, Qinwen Zheng should be favoured in this one. She has the edge in experience, she is playing some good tennis and she has the weapons to cause Andreeva problems.
