MAX PURCELL VS TOMMY PAUL PREDICTION

Max Purcell won a match at the US Open for the very first time on Tuesday as he beat compatriot Aleksandar Vukic in straight sets. This was the third time of asking for the Australian and he made it look relatively easy against Vukic.

He now faces a tough opponent in Tommy Paul who looked a bit more like his usual self in his first-round win over Italian Lorenzo Sonego.

Paul had disappointingly early exits in Montreal and Cincinnati but thrived in the night match against Sonego. He is scheduled once again to play late and with the crowd support, that should generate another good atmosphere which Paul relishes.

Paul should outclass Purcell here and progress to the third round where the winner will play either Arthur Fils or Gabriel Diallo. Paul has an opportunity to go far this year and he will progress from this in either three or four sets.
