MATTEO BERRETTINI VS TAYLOR FRITZ PREDICTION

Taylor Fritz will feel a little harshly done by with this draw against the unseeded Matteo Berrettini but he will not be able to feel sorry for himself.

While it is harsh on his opponents as he works his way back up the rankings, it is far from easy for Berrettini at the moment as he keeps drawing some tough matches.

Fritz has played Berrettini three times in his career and never lost, dropping only one set. That will give him confidence ahead of this match and he is understandably favourite for this one.

Both players won their first round matches in straight sets; Fritz beating Camilo Ugo 7-5 6-1 6-2 and Berrettini beating Albert Ramos-Vinolas 7-6 6-2 6-3.

The sense is that Fritz just has that extra bit of momentum and sharpness right now and that is why we favour him on home soil. We do expect Berrettini to win at least a set however and he could well push this one to all five sets.
