MATTEO BERRETTINI VS KAREN KHACHANOV PREDICTION
Matteo Berrettini qualified for the quarter-finals in Vienna by beating Frances Tiafoe in a three-set battle on Wednesday. His first serve was firing nicely with 16 aces and he won 71% on his first serve but his second serve win percentage was only 39%. He faced a staggering 17 break points and lost only two of them which was the key to his victory but he cannot afford to be facing anything like that number on a regular basis especially to the in-form Khachanov.
He has an excellent record against Khachanov which will give him confidence. Berrettini has won all four previous meetings against him although the last one came back in 2021 and the other three in 2019.
This version of Khachanov is arguably one of the best there has been and he is currently in excellent form. After losing the first set to Brandon Nakashima on Thursday in their round of 16 clash, he responded by winning the next two sets following some minor adjustments.
Khachanov’s confidence is sky high after winning in Almaty last week and he will not fear Berrettini. The Italian is playing some solid stuff but it is hard to go against Khachanov due to current form. We edge Khachanov but we also like the games betting here.
