MARIN CILIC VS BRANDON NAKASHIMA PREDICTION
Marin Cilic is trying to work his way back up the rankings after various struggles with injuries and this run to the semi-finals in Hangzhou will do him no harm. He has played some good tennis as he has progressed through three rounds and his dominant win over Yoshihito Nishioka in the round of 16 was particularly impressive.
He now faces a tough assignment in Brandon Nakashima. The 23-year-old American is the fourth seed this week and he looked strong as he beat Rinky Hijikata 7-5 6-3 on Sunday in the quarter-finals.
It is the American who has to be preferred to win here. As well as Cilic has played, we fear he will run out of steam at some point and Nakashima can take advantage of any sluggishness or easing up in intensity. Consider Nakashima in straight sets.
