20-year-old French talent Luca van Assche will be buzzing after being handed a late call to replace the injured Dominik Koepfer to face Fabio Fognini here. He managed to get through a couple of rounds of qualifiers before losing to Lucas Pouille last Thursday in straight sets. He gets an opportunity as a lucky loser and he will be fired up to try upset Fabio Fognini.

The 37-year-old Italian is in the twilight of his career right now and there is little to suggest he is going to go too far at Wimbledon this year. He did manage to get a couple of matches on grass in Mallorca last week to prepare but the defeat to Jakub Mensik in the second game hardly inspires confidence. He should have the experience and nous to get the win here but this is one probably best leaving alone.
