LORENZO MUSETTI VS TAYLOR FRITZ PREDICTION
It’s a first ever major quarter-final for Lorenzo Musetti, who came from a set down in the round of 16 to see off youngster Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard. Musetti’s standout statistic in that match was the fact he won 84% of points on his second serve against the Frenchman, which – quite rarely – was superior to his equivalent first serve win percentage.
Taylor Fritz, meanwhile, is through to a second career quarter-final at Wimbledon, and fourth in Grand Slams overall having reached the last eight at the most recent US and Australian Opens. The American, who won the Eastbourne International in the lead-up to Wimbledon, produced a sensational comeback from two sets down to beat fourth-seed Alexander Zverev in the round of 16.
While Musetti won their most recent meeting, a straight-sets win at the clay-court Monte-Carlo Masters earlier this year, the big-serving Fritz is more suited to grass.
