Lorenzo Musetti has justified his number one seeding in Chengdu this week as he has reached the final and meets local favourite Juncheng Shang for the title

LORENZO MUSETTI VS JUNCHENG SHANG PREDICTION

Italian star Lorenzo Musetti has warmed up nicely this week and was dominant in his semi-final win over Alibek Kachmazov on Monday. He has faced some decent players in Adrian Mannarino and Christopher O’Connell and he will now meet home favourite Juncheng Shang for the title.

Juncheng was exceptional in his win over Yannick Hanfmann in his semi-final clash. He won 6-4 6-4 and despite Hanfmann firing down an impressive 12 aces, Juncheng was arguably more dominant on his having won 77% on his first serve and 78% on his second.

The local support was firmly behind him and he will now be fired up to win his first-ever ATP title in his first final.

Musetti won two ATP titles back in 2022 and has not won one since. He has reached two finals this year but lost both at Queen’s and in Croatia. He will be desperate to get back to winning ways here and get his long-awaited third title.

It is the Italian who we favour to just edge this one over the 19-year-old Chinese talent. There is every chance this one goes three sets, but Musetti has the quality and that little edge in experience in finals, to see him pick up his third ATP title.
