LORENZO MUSETTI VS FRANCES TIAFOE PREDICTION
Lorenzo Musetti showed great character in fighting back from a set down to beat Nicolas Jarry. The manner of the victory was particularly impressive with the Italian grafting through two tiebreaks to seal the win, and Musetti continues to show his ability to perform at clutch moments.
Musetti’s consistency has been hugely impressive in the last few months and he has reached the semi-finals as a minimum in each of his last five events. Those performances have come in strong tournaments too including the Olympics, Wimbledon and Queen’s.
He meets Frances Tiafoe who is a familiar foe with the duo having played four times, winning two matches apiece.
The 26-year-old American is having a mixed season but will take confidence from his first-round win over Alejandro Davidovich Fokina who he beat in straight sets.
Tiafoe struggles for consistency between matches but in matches themselves. That does not bode well against somebody like Musetti who is as consistently good as anybody on the tour right now. We can’t look past Musetti in this one.
