20-year-old Lorenzo Musetti set a career-high ATP world ranking of 27th last week, built mostly off the back of an incredible run to his maiden ATP title at the Hamburg Open this summer where he stunned Carlos Alcaraz in three sets. The Italian has been reasonably consistent on hardcourts more recently, though, with a strong run to the third round of the US Open last month backed up by a semi-final exit at the Sofia Open last time out, losing to eventual champion Marc-Andrea Huesler. 25-year-old Bernabe Zapata Miralles looks set to break his career-high ATP world ranking of 74th after a shock victory over Lorenzo Sonego on Tuesday and a second-straight Lorenzo could find himself under pressure here. Zapata Miralles has been impressive this season, notably reaching the round of 16 at Roland-Garros on his favoured clay, but Musetti is a showman well-suited to entertaining home fans. The youngster could be a dark horse for the title in Florence and he can be backed to win this first meeting with Zapata Miralles.
