LASLO DJERE VS NOVAK DJOKOVIC PREDICTION

Laslo Djere faces compatriot Novak Djokovic for a second year in a row in the US Open. He won the first two sets against him last year before losing a five-set thriller and he took the first set in their only other clash in a best of three match in 2022. Djokovic has started slow against him in both previous meetings and Djere will be hoping for more of the same.

Djere had to show great character in his opening match against Jan-Lennard Struff to come from 2-1 down and win in five sets. However, that is probably not the best preparation for this match.

Novak Djokovic showed he has not lost a step despite playing little tennis other than the major tournaments as he cantered to a straight-sets win over Radu Albot in the first round.

That may be a somewhat scary proposition for the rest of the field but Djokovic clearly means business once again and will be just as desperate as ever to pick up yet another Grand Slam title.

The legendary Serb will be keen to about spending more time on court than necessary so do not expect him to drop many sets through being sluggish. He is managing his body perfectly and peaking when he has to. Expect a straight sets win here and no sluggish starts this time around.

LASLO DJERE VS NOVAK DJOKOVIC TIP: NOVAK DJOKOVIC TO WIN 3-0
