KEI NISHIKORI VS STEFANOS TSITSIPAS PREDICTION

Kei Nishikori pulled off a superb performance and win in the first round as he fought back from a set and a break down to beat 19-year-old starlet Alex Michelsen. At one point, Michelsen was trading as low as 1.05 in the markets but Nishikori battled unbelievably hard to fight his way back in the game and break his younger opponent down. The challenge now will be to see if he can keep that level going and that will not be so easy against a better calibre of opponent who he faces here.

Stefanos Tsitsipas has had a decent season so far and while his best displays have come on clay in 2024, he is seeded eighth in Montreal and will be desperate to go well this week. He needs rankings points to consolidate his position in the top eight for the race for the ATP Finals and he will be confident of challenging this week.

The pair have met twice before, winning one match each. Nishikori’s win came back in 2018 however while Tsitsipas won the last clash in 2021. Nishikori showed glimpses against Michelsen of his former self but the chances of him imposing his game on Tsitsipas or playing that well as consistently once again are slim. Expect the Greek to win in straight sets.

KEI NISHIKORI VS STEFANOS TSITSIPAS TIP: STEFANOS TSITSIPAS TO WIN 2-0
