KATIE BOULTER VS PAULA BADOSA PREDICTION
Former world number two Paula Badosa reached the last 16 at Roland-Garros on her debut here in 2020 and she went one better a year later, setting her best Grand Slam showing in the same year she won her most prestigious of three WTA titles at Indian Wells.
The 26-year-old has spent the past two seasons struggling to stay fit long enough to gain any sort of momentum on tour but when she has done so there have been clear signs of her proficiency on her favoured clay, with a run to the round of 16 at the Italian Open last time out ended in three tight sets by Coco Gauff.
27-year-old Katie Boulter set a career-high WTA world ranking to math her age earlier this year, after winning her most prestigious WTA title yet at the San Diego 500, but she would be the first to admit that she is uncomfortable on clay.
The Brit has drawn one of the toughest unseeded players here in Badosa but this first meeting between the two is worth keeping from any accumulators with the Spaniard’s fitness always questionable. Otherwise, back Badosa to win in straight sets.
