JANNIK SINNER VS NOVAK DJOKOVIC PREDICTION
World number one Jannik Sinner has responded emphatically from losing the final of the China Open as he has won all five of his matches en route to the final in straight sets.
He comes off a 6-4 7-5 win over revelation Tomas Machac which was a competitive match but Sinner had the edge for most of the game.
He now faces Novak Djokovic in what promises to be a really interesting and high-quality encounter.
Djokovic completed his tenth successive win over Taylor Fritz in the semi-finals and he has gotten better with every game he has played after a relatively slow start by his standards.
Given the fact Djokovic is being selective over the tournaments he plays and he is managing his body, it is expected that he starts slow at times but he is getting up speed pretty quickly in each tournament he plays and still competes at the business end of each one.
This really is a fantastic test for both players and a good measure of just how far Sinner has come. Djokovic leads the head-to-head 4-3 but Sinner has won three of the last four including the only meeting this year. Sinner won in four sets at the Australian Open and that should give him confidence he can do it again here.
Playing over three sets will benefit Djokovic and his body compared to the longer format, giving him a better chance of winning.
However, Sinner is playing at a really high level right now and we favour him to win the title here. He is playing some outstanding tennis right now and we just lean towards him to edge what should be a cracking match.
