JANNIK SINNER VS DANIIL MEDVEDEV PREDICTION

It’s a third straight Wimbledon quarter-final for Jannik Sinner, the Italian looking in excellent form so far at the All England Club. The world number one needed just three sets to see off American hope Ben Shelton in the round of 16, with Sinner notably winning 70% of points on his second serve.

After two competitive and fairly lengthy four-set victories, Danill Medvedev’s round of 16 contest with Grigor Dimitrov was altogether less taxing with the latter forfeiting the match due to injury he sustained in the first set. That will have allowed Medvedev to conserve some much-needed energy as he aims to reach a second successive Wimbledon semi-final.

This is an interesting match-up in the sense that Medvedev won the first six meetings between the two, but Sinner has since prevailed in the last five, including their enthralling Australian Open final in January. This, though, will be the first time they lock horns on grass.

You can argue that Sinner has a psychological edge here, given his winning streak over the Russian. More than that though, he has played the superior tennis this past week, and also won the Halle Open in preparation for Wimbledon. In what has the potential to be a classic, we’re tipping Sinner to progress.
