JANNIK SINNER VS BEN SHELTON PREDICTION

Number one seed Jannik Sinner has come through a few good challenges already this week and he faces another in Ben Shelton in the round of 16. Sinner has risen to the challenge so far and with confidence high, he is not phased by anything. His win over compatriot Matteo Berrettini was strong and he romped past Miomir Kecmanovic in the third round.

He will be confident of beating Shelton who he has beaten in their last two meetings although Shelton has one win over Sinner to his name. Shelton has been a revelation this week having beaten Mattia Bellucci, Lloyd Harris and then Denis Shapovalov – all of which went to five sets.

That is highly unlikely to be the case in this match with Sinner however. The Italian is far too good and too consistency to let Shelton stay close to him here. It would be no surprise to see the three marathon matches catch up on Shelton too which is hardly the best preparation to play the world number one. Expect Sinner to dominate and while Shelton could potentially sneak a set, Sinner will progress so add him to your accumulator.
