THE PREDICTION

Team Scotland will be in high spirits after Andy Murray’s leveller in an epic with Jack Draper on Wednesday night and that should aid elder brother Jamie’s chances in an intriguing pairing with Jonny O’Mara. 36-year-old Jamie Murray has struggled to find his peak form in recent seasons, particularly last year, whilst 27-year-old O’Mara is currently ranked just inside the top 100 on the ATP Doubles world rankings. An English pairing of current world number one Neal Skupski and number four Joe Salisbury looks the elite duo on paper but the pair have often been kept apart in Davis Cup or ATP Cup duty by GB captain Leon Smith as they have underperformed in the past alongside each other. Home advantage is clearly with Murray and O’Mara in Aberdeen but the English pair have 11 ATP titles between them this season and they should be favoured the longer this match continues. A deciding tiebreak could well be required, so back Skupski and Salisbury to earn at least a set and leave the victors up to chance.
