JAKUB MENSIK VS LORENZO MUSETTI PREDICTION

A fascinating second semi-final lies in store at the Goran Ivanisevic Stadium where 18-year-old Jakub Mensik meets the highly entertaining 22-year-old Italian Lorenzo Musetti.

Musetti had to fight back from a set down against Dusan Lajovic on Thursday evening in the quarters in what was a really good test for him. After losing out in a close first set, he stepped it up a level in the second and then again in the third to overpower Lajovic and that will give him yet more confidence. He will be hoping to start a bit better in this one.

Mensik is enjoying a fantastic week in Croatia so far with three successive straight-set wins. His quarter-final performance was probably the best of the three as he hammered Tseng Chun Hsin 6-0 6-4. This clash with Musetti marks a step up in quality however and he will have to be close to his best to have a chance of winning.

This is going to be a tough hard-fought match which will likely involve a number of long rallies. Musetti’s all-round quality and creativity should be enough to give him the edge in this one.
