JAKUB MENSIK VS ALEX DE MINAUR PREDICTION

Jakub Mensik has come through four rounds to reach this stage after the 19-year-old Czech player had to come through qualifying. In the main draw, Mensik has beaten Alexei Popyrin and the Miomir Kecmanovic in straight sets and his confidence is flying at present.

He now meets Alex de Minaur who he has never faced before. The Australian is trying to build his fitness and sharpness back up and he will take plenty of positives from his wins over Jan-Lennard Struff and then Flavio Cobolli in the round of 16 on Thursday.

De Minaur faces a quick turnaround after only playing yesterday and he will be hoping his body holds up to the physical demands of that given his injury troubles. Assuming he is fully fit, he will fancy his chances here in what will be a really good test.

Mensik will have no fear over facing the second seed and will push him all the way, but we like De Minaur’s chances based on how he is playing so far this week in Vienna.
