JACK DRAPER VS STEFANOS TSITSIPAS PREDICTION
Jack Draper won his first round match against Jaume Munar in three sets and it was not as straight forward as he may have hoped. Playing in sweltering temperatures, the Brit smashed his racket in frustration as Munar pushed him all the way.
He will need to raise his game for the this second round match against the talented Stefanos Tsitsipas. He can take heart from their one previous meeting which saw Draper win 7-5 7-6 at an ATP 1000 in Canada back in 2022.
Tsitsipas has gone through his own turmoil of late and after removing his father as his coach, he has now appointed Greece’s Davis Cup captain Dimitris Hadjinikolaou for this tournament and beyond.
Tsitsipas lost his first set against Jan Lennard Struff in the first round but he fought back to win out 4-6 6-4 6-3. That win and show of character was important after the change in coach and it would be no surprise if the switch makes a fair difference to him psychologically at the very least.
Draper is more than capable of competing with the higher-ranked Tsitsipas but neither of these players are overly convincing right now. We do however like the Greek more so right now especially in the heat and just favour him to progress.
