JACK DRAPER VS CAMERON NORRIE PREDICTION
Arguably the biggest match on day four of Wimbledon is an all English affair as Jack Draper faces off against Cameron Norrie in what should be a highly entertaining matchup.
Norrie has won both previous meetings on the ATP Tour having won in straight sets in 2022 at the ATP Masters 1000 in Miami and the previous year at Queen’s by the same margin. Draper is much improved since those matches however and his recent rise has seen him become the top ranked British player at the age of 22.
Draper was notably nervous in his first round match which was switched to centre court following Andy Murray’s withdrawal. He then laboured to a topsy-turvy five-set win over Elias Ymer where he did not look in control of that match for spells of it. He will have to raise his game significantly here against Norrie.
Norrie did what he had to do to beat Argentine Facundo Diaz Acosta in the first round in straight sets. There was nothing glamorous about the win but he was largely in cruise control. The one thing Norrie will have in his favour is that he will be much more familiar with the surroundings and has the comfort of knowing he can beat Draper. His motivation will very much be around putting the younger up and coming star in his place and proving he is the best of Britain.
This match could very well go the distance and every set is likely to be hard fought and close. Draper will no doubt produce a better display than he did in the first round and the pair will go toe to toe. We are less confident on picking a winner, but fully expect this one to go over 3.5 sets so that is our preferred play here.
