IGA SWIATEK VS SOFIA KENIN PREDICTION
Last year’s first round saw Sofia Kenin shock one of the tournament favourites in Coco Gauff, which underlines the challenge Iga Swiatek faces here against a fellow Grand Slam champion. Form is weighted heavily in the Polish star’s favour, having won each of her last 19 matches. Swiatek has also beaten Kenin already in a slam this year, winning in straight sets at the Australian Open. On grass however, Swiatek is notably less comfortable.
Although Swiatek has won nine and lost four of her 13 matches played at Wimbledon, her serve should be noticeably stronger this year, which stands her in good stead. Kenin has had a quiet year so far and this is essentially a free hit for the 25-year-old. Swiatek should end up winning but there is also value to be had in backing over 17.5 games to be contested.
