HOLGER RUNE VS MILOS RAONIC PREDICTION
Milos Raonic is fighting his way back up the world rankings and injuries have seen him drop down in recent years but he has shown in recent months in his limited game time that he is still as dangerous as ever. At Queen’s, he fired down a staggering 47 aces against Cam Norrie en route to victory and even when he has been defeated like in the Olympics against Dominik Koepfer, his serve continues to give him a chance.
Injuries continue to plague him however and they have seen him withdraw from tournaments and matches three times already in 2024 which is concerning when considering a bet on him. On home soil however, he will be determined to push through anything and put on a show for the Canadian fans.
He was scheduled to meet Holger Rune at Indian Wells earlier this year but ended up withdrawing with a calf injury and not playing that game.
Rune has had injury concerns of his own though having to withdraw from his match against Arthur Fils just a couple of weeks ago at the German Open and he subsequently missed the Olympics with a wrist injury.
If his fitness holds up, the defensive side of his game will be tested against Raonic’s impressive serve. That said, there are question marks over him, just as much as Raonic coming into this match.
Assuming both players are fit, our preference is with Raonic to do well in front of his home crowd. We expect him to win at least a set here and over 2.5 sets is our preference.
